Following a successful ‘stage debut’ in the “Lisa Dean Folk & Country Show” which toured Victorian country regions three years ago, Cheeky Chimp has moved on to become a mobile ventriloquist act for Melbourne’s Shopping Centres and street festivals, even acquiring a regular slot on drive time public radio. A ventriloquist act on radio might sound absurd. But that’s what Lisa Dean and Cheeky Chimp are all about – together they are an essay in contradictions and their humour represents play between two classicly mis-matched personalities. Cheeky is small fellow with a big mouth. We should warn, that while Cheeky is never out right rude or offensive, he does swing towards the provocative.

In most cases Cheeky will leave people laughing at Lisa or at themselves – so for those who can’t laugh at themselves - well the less said the better – Cheeky Chimp is not for you.

Lisa Dean lets fashion speak for her. Sometimes she is the embodiment of vanity - a clumsy charade, overdressed for every situation in her stolletoes and fine dress. A Melbourne Cup socialite with no where to go. At other times she is the schoolyard loser at the mercy of a headstrong chimp, or Tarzans lost wife whose settled for a monkey.

Whatever she is, Lisa Dean is always just the sort of idiot Cheeky thrives on. "Nothing makes Cheeky happier than to openly discuss Lisa’s weight problem with anyone, He will rush to make advances towards gentlemen on Lisa’s behalf; If Lisa really likes some fellow, Cheeky will not hesitate to propose on Lisa’s behalf, set a wedding date, etc. But Cheeky won’t control his bladder at the pivotal moment. And he will never shut up."

Recommendations. Cheeky Chimp entertains every age group.
